Another Tuesday, another sweep for the Lady Bruins and Bruins of Bartlesville High at Bruin Fieldhouse - this time over Sapulpa.

The Lady Bruins hung on for a second straight game after another long scoring drought. BHS topped Sapulpa 42-36. Bartlesville only scored two points in about nine minutes of gameplay in the third and fourth quarters. A 14-point Lady Bruin lead was cut to one on two separate occasions. However, each time Bartlesville had an answer, this bucket from Vivian Culver snapped the scoreless streak.

Jena' Williams would hit four key free throws down the stretch to help move Bartlesville’s lead from two to six, and the Lady Bruins would never look back. BHS improves to 18-0 on the season, still undefeated on the year. Bartlesville was led in scoring by Avery Allen who had 16.

On the guy’s side, a big run for the Bruins early in the second half propelled Bartlesville to another win over a ranked team. BHS beat the Chieftains 58-50. The Bruins led by three at halftime and never trailed again. Sapulpa cut a once 12-point lead down to five a few times in the fourth. This shot and the foul from Tayo Dina put the game on ice.

Bartlesville has beaten two teams ranked in the top 11 of 6A in back-to-back Tuesdays at home. The Bruins are 7-11.

Both BHS clubs are next at home against Bishop Kelley on Friday in Throwback night at the old Phillips Gymnasium.
