Dewey Public School Board Approves Routine Issues
The Dewey Public School Board mainly dotted the i's and crossed the t's required before the beginning of the regular school year during Monday's monthly meeting. They approved several fund raisers by different school groups throughout the year. Temporary contracts were approved for two teachers and one support member.
A significant change was added to the Parent and Student Handbook for the 2015-2016 school year. School Superintendent Dr. David Wilkins that a first offense of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs at school will be a 45-day suspension. A second offense will result in a suspension of the rest of the semester plus one day. A third offense will be expulsion.
