One Suspect in May Police Shooting in Court on Wednesday

One of the three suspects in a police chase and shooting on May 28th was in a Nowata County courtroom on Wednesday. Roxanne Mendoza was in the vehicle that led police on a chase from Talala, Oklahoma on Highway 169 into Montgomery County, Kansas. A Talala officer pulled the vehicle for speeding. When he went back to his squad car to call for backup, the driver of the stopped vehicle, Alejandro Garcia, drove off.

During the chase, the car a responding Oologah officer was driving, went out of control, injuring Officer Charles Neill. Mendoza and another passenger, Carlos Rios, were caught that night. Garcia was captured the next day. All three face several charges of shooting with intent to kill and possession of a firearm during a felony. Mendoza was listed on the Daily Docket on Wednesday.
