Governor Mary Fallin issued an executive order on Wednesday to the Aging Services Division of DHS to find improvements in services and care for those suffering from Alzheimer's disease. The order instructs the Division to consult with the Oklahoma chapter of the Alzheimer's Association to review and revise a plan that was developed in 2009.

Fallin wants the new plan to contain recommendations for state policies, providing clear and coordinated services for persons and families affected by Alzheimer's and other related disorders. The executive order also calls for the formulation of proposals on how the state can better provide long-term care and family caregiver support.
