The latest information from AAA Oklahoma is that Oklahomans will be on the roads in near record numbers during the Fourth of July travel period, which runs today through Sunday, July 5th. One reason for the increase in travelers is that the price of gas is close to a dollar less per gallon than it was at this time in 2014. The average price for a gallon of regular gas in Oklahoma is $2.53.

AAA expects more than half a million people to travel during the holiday period, most on the road but there's also an increase using other forms of transportation. AAA suggests drivers have their vehicles inspected before heading out on the road.
