The Nowata County Commissioners have declared an emergency for the county due to heavy rains and severe storms in May.  Some of the county roads are damaged due to heavy rain.  Chairman Doug Sonenberg read the declaration.  The proclamation means that Nowata County can request state assistance for repairs of roads and bridges that were damaged due to severe weather.
