There's a new sheriff in town.  After spending about 15 minutes in executive session, the Nowata County Commissioners Monday appointed Richard Miller as the new sheriff, replacing the retiring James Hallett.  Miller will serve the last two years of Hallett's term.  Commissioner Curtis Barnes says Miller is well qualified for the job.  Miller has worked at the sheriff's office for about 16 years.  The county received the sales tax check for $76,827.98, which is down over $20,000 from last month.
