Washington County District Judge Curtis DeLapp sentenced a Bartlesville man for six months in the county jail for direct contempt of court during Monday afternoon's arraignment docket.  36-year old John Charles Thomas was ordered to pay fines and costs in another case.  Thomas told the judge he paid his fines, argued and cussed at the judge.

Thomas is also facing a felony of unauthorized use of a vehicle charge.  According to a court affidavit, Bartlesville police were searching for a 2002 maroon Buick Century that was reportedly stolen out of Winfield, Kansas.  Officers found the car in front of 133 NE Avondale.  The police learned from Winfield police that Thomas had the car since February and was told to bring the car back to the owner.

Thomas' next court date is June 19th.  Bond was set at $50,000.
