The Skiatook High School 2015 Commencement Ceremony was full of emotion as a former student received his diploma. World War II veteran 91-year-old William Larkin was a 17-year-old student at Skiatook when he enlisted in the Marines in 1942. Larkin was on Iwo Jima during that major World War II battle. Newson6 reports Larkin telling the graduating class, “There's no place like the United States. I don't care what anybody says.” He met his bride of almost 70 years, Lois, at Skiatook High School, which is why Thursday night's moment was so special for them both.
