House of Representatives Passes EPA Overreach Bill

The Oklahoma Senate created a bill to send a message to the EPA over air-quality standards. Senate Bill 676 with amendments passed by a unanimous vote in March. Earlier this week, the House of Representatives made amendments and passed the bill be a vote of 68-21. District 10 Representative Travis Dunlap said the EPA standards could energy costs to go up.

Dunlap said the Bill would enable Oklahoma to create it's own plan. The Bill's author, State Senator Jon Echols predicts that the state will sue when the EPA tries to enforce the new carbon standards.
