Washington County Special Judge John Gerkin held a probable cause hearing Wednesday afternoon for 50-year old Joe Nine Beck of Copan, who was arrested for trafficking in methamphetamine. Washington County Sheriff Deputies conducted a traffic stop with no headlights on Golden Avenue west of Caney Street in Copan.
According to a court affidavit, deputies noticed Beck was nervous and shaking. Officers searched Beck and found two bags of meth totaling 45 grams along with two dollars. Court records indicate that Beck has felony convictions in Oklahoma and Kansas.
Beck's next court date is Thursday afternoon when charges are expected to be filed. Bond was set at $250,000.
