The Washington County Fairgrounds sign received an inadvertent hit a couple of weeks ago. A 20-year-old drunk, speeding driver trying to elude the Dewey Police turned onto Bulldogger Boulevard from Highway 75, lost control and hit the sign. While the county waits for Kaelib Richard's insurance company to pay the claim, District 1 Commissioner Mitch Antle said members of the Washington County Free Board are taking matters into their own hands.

The hope is to replace the current sign with and LED sign. The Free Fair Board wants a new sign so they will raise money with hops of being reimbursed at a later date.
