KWON Radio Repeats as Station of the Year, Non-Metro, by OAB

KWON radio was recognized for as one of the top radio stations in the state Friday night at the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters awards ceremony.  In addition to the Non-Metro Radio Station of the Year Award -- which is a repeat from the Non-Metro Radio Station of the Year award from last year, KWON received the OAB community service award and two awards for excellence in news reporting. Reporter Jonathan Eastman picked up the award for best radio news feature for his report on the Washington County Emergency Management exercise at the Washington Park Mall and best on-the-spot reporting for his reports from the Ochelata fire..


The state broadcasters association honors it's member radio and television stations yearly in a number of categories.  KWON has received the radio station of the year award six times since 1999. The station has been a finalist for the award every year for the past 18 years.
