The Bartlesville Sports Commission held its eighth annual board meeting on Wednesday night at the BHS hospitality room. The announcement of the 2015 Bartlesville Athletic Hall of Fame class was the headlining event.

Two athletes, one athletic director, a swim team and a softball orginzation will all be officially inducted into the Hall of Fame during the Eighth Annual Bartlesville Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet on Nov. 14.

Tim Bart, Bartlesville High School Athletic Director, talks about the process of selecting the inductees.

The Inductees:

Vicki Streets: Streets was a 1982 Sooner High graduate who played three sports in high school. Streets won the 1980 state title in softball. Streets played basketball collegiately at Oral Roberts and Oklahoma, then after her eligibility ran out, she played softball as a Lady Sooner as well.

Tim Tolin: Tolin was a three-sport athlete at Sooner High, graduating in 1977. Collegiately, Tolin played baseball at Wichita State from 1977-1981. He won two Missouri Valley championships while he was a Shocker, and served as a graduate assistant for WSU in its National Runner-Up team in 1982.

Paul Geymann. Geymann was the Bartlesville Public Schools athletic and physical education director. During his time at these positions in the 60s and 70s, Geymann started the girls athletics program in Bartlesville. Geymann played basketball at Oklahoma A&M and coached collegiately at Oklahoma and Missouri.

The Blazer Softball Organization: A group of local men, led by Lew Ambler and Andy Anderson, purchased a piece of land in 1968 for their daughters to play softball. The organization, which had many leaders and helpers over the years, led to nine high school state championships. In 1982 the team finished third in the country. Lew Ambler talks about his feelings after hearing Blazer Softball would be inducted.

1966 College High Girls Swim Team: This team started the long tradition of swimming excellence in Bartlesville, winning the first of 15 state titles the ladies have earned.

Chairmen of the BSC, Bob Pomeroy, started off with recapping the year.

The BSC hosted the Sandy Koufax baseball tournament, hosted the Great American Conference tournament for the 4th straight year and put on the Bartlesville High Kickoff and Tip-off lunches. Pomeroy also announced that the BSC granted $19,000 to the Bartlesville High Athletic Department through the commission's work.

Pomeroy also announced news that the GAC had a $1.9 million economic impact on the Bartlesville area, more than it ever has previously. This happened, in part, because of an extra day of staying in Bartlesville because of a winter weather threat.
