Legislation was passed last week by the Delaware Tribe of Indians' Tribal Council to raise the minimum hourly wage for employees of the tribe by the amount of $1.25. Two other tribes in the area, the Osage Nation and the Cherokee Nation, as well as the Muscogee Nation, have already set their minimum wage above federal levels. Assistant Chief Bonnie Jo Griffith said the Council has been discussing the increase since November.

Griffith also said the Council is working on some new economic development with hopes of creating more jobs very soon.
