The Cherokee Nation is preparing for the opening of its latest casino and has hired more than 100 employees to work at the new operation.
Cherokee Principal Chief Bill John Baker is expected to join other tribal leaders Thursday to commemorate the opening of the new Cherokee Casino South Coffeyville.
Cherokee Nation Entertainment- the gaming and hospitality arm of the Cherokee Nation- broke ground on the 17,000-square-foot facility in August.
The $10 million development offers 300 electronic games and a dining venue featuring lunch, dinner and cocktail options.
The new casino is located off Highway 169 in South Coffeyville.
