A red flag warning is in effect from noon until 6 P.M. Across nine northeastern Oklahoma counties. The threat of wildfire is high for Washington, Osage, Nowata, Pawnee, Creek, Okfuskee, Okmulgee, Tulsa and Rogers counties. Michael Lacy of the National Weather Service Tulsa office explains:

Lacy also said the cold front moving into the area on Thursday should bring enough precipitation to the area to curb the fire risk for the near future.
