The Tulsa Port of Catoosa says shipping activities last month jumped to the highest total since February as outbound agricultural commodities saw large increases.

The port says shipping for soybeans easily surpassed October's numbers as 50,000 more tons left the port in November than during the previous month.

Outbound fertilizer also showed big gains, with totals for that commodity leaving the port more than doubling October's figure.

Total tonnage in November was 221,188, a 50 percent increase over October. Cumulative shipping for 2014 now stands at more than 2.15 million tons, slightly lower than during the first 11 months of 2013. By November 2013 almost 2.5 million tons had moved through the northeastern Oklahoma port.

The Tulsa Port of Catoosa is home to 70 industrial facilities that employ 4,200 workers.
