City Council Accepts Utility Rate Study
The Bartlesville City Council Monday night accepted a presentation of the utility rate study performed by Leidos. In 2014, the city council authorized a study to examine the city's utility rates. The City has been working with Leidos for about three months to examine the task. Dave Yanke from Leidos presented the study to the city council concerning the water and waste water issues. Yanke said that water supplies could pose a challenge in the future. Yanke also presented waste water challenges, especially the age of waste water plants. Part of the study recommended an utility rate increase. Administrative Director and CFO Mike Bailey told the city council that at this time there won't be an increase, but could happen in the future. City officials will go over the plan in a committee and present recommendations to the council in the near future.
