Bartlesville Police are currently investigating a possible residential burglary attempt that was reported early Monday morning.  According to Captain Jay Hastings, a home owner in the 900 block of Sandstone reported their dog started barking at something at 12:23 in the morning. When the homeowner went to investigate they heard window blinds moving in the rear of their home. The home owner retrieved a handgun for self defense then saw a shadow of someone running through the kitchen of the home. The home owner fired three shots towards the backdoor of the home.  When Officers arrived at the home they noticed the home's rear door was open but could not locate anyone in the area. Officers located where the three bullets struck inside the home but no evidence anyone was shot or injured. The homeowner was not able to provide a description.
