Duck Derby Coming
Independence Day is only a few weeks away and that means its time for the Dewey Civic Association's Annual Duck Derby. As always, ducks will float down the stream in Don Tyler Park in Dewey, with the winning ducks bringing their owners an HDTV, $500 cash, an 8GB tablet, and other prizes. President of the Dewey Civic Association says that when this was first suggested years ago by then city manager Bruce Johnson, she thought nobody would participate in a rubber ducky race.
The annual Duck Derby raises funds for the Dewey 4th of July celebrations.
Ducks can be purchased at Arvest Bank in Dewey, Linger Longer Antiques, the Dewey Library, Popkess Pharmacy, Dewey City Hall, Green Country Dental Arts of Dewey, and the Vintage Loft Junk Boutique.
Ducks are 1 for $5, 5 for $20, or 10 for $30.
