Cox Discusses Water Conservation
Late last week, Governor Fallin asked the state to start conserving water. In her statement, Fallin mentioned that more than half the state is in some drought condition. Although the U.S. Drought Monitor shows only abnormally dry conditions in Southern Osage, Nowata, and Washington Counties and almost all local lakes are at the top of their conservation pools, Washington County Emergency Manager Kary Cox emphasizes the need for water conservation. Cox reminds us that we don't know what the upcoming spring and summer may bring. As for actual conservation practices, Cox suggests some simple changes, like turning the water off when brushing your teeth.
