Dewey Sales Tax Down
In Monday's Dewey City Council meeting tax revenues were reported to again be below the same month last year. City Manager Kevin Trease reported that year to year, tax revenues for the month of September were down 3.7% and tax revenues for the same fiscal year to date were down nearly 6.5%. Despite the lower tax revenues, Trease said the city still is at about 5% more tax receipts than budgeted. To help keep tax revenues up and ensure the city has funds to continue to provide services, Trease has a simple solution, shop locally. In other business, the city also approved the destruction of old records.
