August Unemployment Rate Drops
The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission has released their unemployment numbers for August of 2013. According to the commission, 48 of 77 Oklahoma counties reported unemployment rates drop in August.
Both Washington and Nowata Counties showed their unemployment rates steady while Osage County saw a drop in their rates. Washington County's unemployment rate stands at 4 percent, the same as July of 2013. Nowata County's unemployment rate is at 6.4 percent, which is the same as July while Osage County's unemployment rate for August is at 5.8 percent, compared to 6 percent in July of 2013.
Latimer County reported the highest unemployment rate at 8.9 percent while Roger Mills County reported the lowest unemployment rate at 2 percent.
