Bartlesville Man Arrested For Assault

A $100,000 bond has been set for a Bartlesville man who allegedly assaulted his girlfriend. 57-year old Ronald Wayne Edwards is charged with domestic assault and battery by strangulation and driving without a license. Bartlesville police Thursday evening were called to the 200 block of Northwest Penn to investigate the alleged crime. According to a court affidavit, officers saw red marks on the woman's neck, a bruised left eye, and a bruised knot on the left side of her forehead. The victim told the police that Edwards grabbed her throat, covered her mouth and nose saying he might just kill her. When the police were talking with the woman, the suspect drove up in her car and was taken into custody. Court records indicate that Edwards was convicted in Washington County for knowing concealing stolen property in 2000 and attempted robbery in 2001. He has three priors in Tulsa County for embezzlement by employee in 1993, escape in 1995, and possession of CDS in 2006. Edwards' next court date is June 11.
