After last month’s sudden resignations by two board members, the Dewey Public School Board spent the first part of their monthly board meeting announcing new positions and members.

Amanda Guilfoyle will move from Vice President to President. David Cleveland, former Clerk, will become Vice President. Clerk will be taken over by Amy LaSprisa. The newest board member is Emily Case who replaced Ryan Higbee. There is still one position on the board that needs replacing.

The Board addressed and approved numerous outstanding issues to finalize the school year. Several contracts for new teachers were approved and three resignations were accepted. Sign-offs were given on the Parent-Student Handbook and the continuation of Tri-County Tech courses for high school credit.

After brief discussion on the difficulty of hiring a permanent speech & language pathology teacher, a contract for outsourcing the services was approved for Tiny Eyes, who will replace Bartlesville Hope Pediatrics due to BHP needing to staff their office differently.

A contract to partner with the Dewey Police Department for providing safety services during events and games plus supporting the School Resource Officer in the event of emergency situations on campus was also approved.
