Local fire departments mourn the loss of one of their own.

According to the Washington County Fire Department, Owens & Company Fire Chief Todd Owens passed away on Monday morning.

Chief Owens, a former Northwest Rogers County Fire Department Battalion Chief, led the department for 25 years and was highly considered to be a pillar of the Vera community; Chief Owens was well respected in Washington County.

Services for Chief Owens will be held at the Caney Valley high school gym in Ramona on Monday, Oct. 18 at 2:00 p.m.
