State Senator Julie Daniels of Bartlesville joined Governor Kevin Stitt and her colleagues in the Blue Room at the State Capitol Building on Monday afternoon to see an administrative procedure reform bill signed into law.

The measure, authored by Sen. Daniels, creates the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules. Daniels said this was a multi-year effort by both the House and the Senate. She said they plan to have the Committee meet throughout the year to help the administrative agencies promulgate their rules in an orderly fashion while giving the legislature more time to consider whether or not to approve them or disapprove them rather than rushing this effort at the end of a legislative session.

Sen. Daniels said they're going to expedite the repeal of some rules as well. She said this will make it easier for agencies to "clean out their attics of rules" that are obsolete or duplicative. This is to help streamline the administrative state, break the red tape, and reduce the burden of regulations on Oklahomans.
