The Washington County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) saw a purchase agreement with Cabela's, LLC, approved by the Washington County Commissioners on Monday morning.

WCSO Sheriff Scott Owen said the purchase agreement was necessary so the Sheriff's Office could get a new long range rifle. He said having the agreement in place puts the WCSO in compliance with the purchase order process.

The WCSO cannot utilize credit cards for any purchases other than or related to travel. In order to stay in compliance with the State Auditor and Inspector's Office, Sheriff Owen said they had to set up an agreement with them whereby they can invoice the WCSO when they make a purchase from Cabela's so they can handle it through the purchase order process.

Sheriff Owen said they found a long range rifle that they're interested in that is backed by numerous Special Response SWAT Teams. He said Washington County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team had been dubiously searching for the best deal for the weapon and stumbled upon the rifle being offered at Cabela's. The WCSO's Special Response Team would utilize the weapon once it's purchased.

The Washington County Commissioners also approved an order relating to the sale of County property acquired at resale. They also approved the notice to sell County property acquired at resale, the transcript of proceedings and the affidavit of publication for 313 W. Choctaw Avenue in Ochelata, 74051, Lot 7, Blk 19, Gilkey's Addn.

From there, the Commissioners approved a letter of understanding from Turner & Associates, PLC< Certified Public Accountants for services provided for the year ended June 30th, 2021.

Lastly, the Commissioners approved reconcilements from the Washington County Health Department for February and March, 2021.

The Washington County Commissioners will meet again on Monday, April 12th, at 9:30 a.m. They will meet on the second floor of the County Administration Building located at 400 S. Johnstone Avenue in downtown Bartlesville.
