The Nowata County Commissioners met briefly on Tuesday morning. First, the commissioners approved an annual renewal for the OSU Extension Office for the 2020-21 fiscal year. The board also accepted and approved a $100 donation to the sheriff’s office.

The commissioners also heard from county treasurer Lynn Wesson and assessor Chandee Hawk about the plans for the upcoming tax season. Wesson says the two will set up in the surrounding communities in the county to assist citizens. They hope this assistance can be something that will be done in years to come as well.

Chairman Burke LaRue also mentioned that CARES Act funding will be made available to different county offices after a resolution is passed.
