The Board of Osage County Commissioners met for a regularly scheduled meeting Monday morning at the courthouse in Pawhuska.

The county commissioners approved the proposal for the Green Country Fire District to possibly become a county department. It will now be up to the voters of the county to allow it, as there will be an election that takes place in January. The Fire District is asking for 10 mills.

Baker Petrolite LLC donated seven used ethylene trailers for the county to use. These trailers are outdated, but can still be used for various tasks such as storing water.

The county commissioners signed a service contract agreement with John Spicer allowing him to do mechanic services for District one at a rate of $30 an hour. He will also do work at the Osage County Fairgrounds for that same rate. This will save those in District one from having to take equipment long distances to get it fixed.

There were two Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority Certificates of Compliance letters signed. One was for District one and the other was for District Three. District one and two also sold scrap metal that had been gathered from the county dump day last month. That will be sold at $75 a ton.

During citizen’s input, Court Clerk Sheila Bellamy said they are beginning to work on a revised employee handbook for county employees. Bellamy said that would include a social media policy along with a travel policy. Commissioners Assistant Kandy Jump said the reception honoring Judge Kane will be Thursday, October 24th at 5 o’ clock in the evening. It will take place at the courthouse.

The next regularly scheduled Board of Osage County Commissioners meeting will be next Monday at 10 o’ clock in the morning.
