Out of all the rich knowledge and material someone could have taken from the Bartlesville Public Library, someone chose to steal a faucet.

Library Director Shellie McGill said they believe someone took the faucet from the first floor women’s bathroom on Sunday and they discovered that it was missing on Monday. She said they had checked with building maintenance about the faucet to see if they were fixing it or if they removed it for any other reason.

Building Maintenance said they had not touched the faucet. The library then came to the conclusion that someone turned off the water, cut the water lines and took the facuet.

McGill said the library had just finished remodeling the bathrooms and now they have to replace the $300 touchless faucet. She said they are sad that they have to replace it and hope they can find the stolen faucet.

The money to replace the touchless faucet will be replace with money from the library's book fund. That is unless the essential bathroom item is found and returned.

If you are able to locate the library’s stolen faucet, you can call their office at 918.338.4187. You may contact them through their Facebook Page as well.
