The Nowata County Commissioners continued a long running discussion about E911 at Monday morning’s meeting. Jerome Gnatek with the 911 committee brought a proposal to the board to define the committee as a trust authority. The commissioners will review the lengthy proposal over the next several days.

This distinction would authorize the committee to conduct business, specifically in the process of applying for grants. Gnatek also outlined that it would be difficult for Nowata County to fund its own stand-alone dispatch center.

Working with a neighboring county like Rogers, Craig or Washington remains a strong possibility. The county would have a limited budget for this operation but REAP grant funds could be available.

The commissioners also approved several resolutions of disposal for vehicle from the sheriff’s office. The board wanted the public to know that the county courthouse will be closed on Thursday and Friday.
