The Nowata County Commissioners discussed several different items at Monday morning’s meeting. The commissioners accepted several donations on behalf of the sheriff’s office. Two cash donations totaled $530 while Bob Sudderth volunteered himself for seven days of carpentry work within the jail.

Later in the meeting a resolution was approved to rescind a motion regarding the surplus of sheriff’s office vehicles. Sheriff Hallett wants to re-evaluate if any of the vehicles can be made operational.

Nowata County Assessor Dave Neely presented a State of Oklahoma flag that was donated by District 10 representative Judd Strom. Neely stated that a member of his staff noticed the flag outside of the courthouse was not in good condition so he requested a replacement. All members expressed gratitude for the work Strom has done in Nowata County during his time in office.

The commissioners will reconvene on Tuesday morning to accept appropriation of funds and alcoholic beverage tax allocations from March.
