The Bartlesville Board of Education will hold a special midday meeting Wednesday to discuss a Bond Issue Election. Bartlesville Public School's Superintendent Chuck McCauley says this potential bond would add to current funds that will help the school district with its needs. McCauley says the biggest chunk of the budget would be directed at technology.

In August, BPS will equip every 6th through 12th grade student with a Chromebook device. McCauley says high school students already have Chromebooks and they will role out the devices to Madison and Central Middle Schools this year. He said all elementary schools should have at least 6 Chromebook carts as well.

Maintaining those projects will be the primary focus of the bond issue. McCauley also says maintenance on Smart Boards in district elementary schools will also be a focus with the bond issue if it is approved by voters.

The Bartlesville Board or Education hopes to vote on the Bond Issue in May so the public can vote on it in August. McCauley said the bond funds would also be used for transportation, curriculum needs like textbooks and for the Agriculture Building BPS hopes to build on the high school campus.

Wednesday's midday meeting will be held in Bartlesville High School's Fine Arts Center Hospitality Room.
