Temperatures are rising and the winds are plenty for kite flying. Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge in Eureka Springs, Arkansas will hold its 29th Annual Kite Festival soon. Ike Weaver invites everyone to attend the Saturday, March 23 festival.

He said professionals will be on hand to show people how to fly unique kites. One professional could be bringing a 30-foot long dragon kite that they will put on display for families and individuals alike to see.

Weaver said you can bring your own kites for you and your kids to fly or you can make a kite with your family. Kite making is completely free to the public that attends the 29th Annual Kite Fest. You can even spend time learning about the Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge.

According to Weaver, the Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge has about 90-plus animals on 459 acres. That is seven miles south of Eureka Springs. He said they focus on working with big cats like lions and tigers. They even work with bears.

While the Kite Fest is free to all, general admission applies to tours and information sessions at the Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge. For pricing on tours and more on the Kite Fest, you can visit their website by clicking on the link here.
