Three Fatality Victims Identified in Tuesday Collision

A fatality traffic accident killed three people Tuesday morning on US Highway 75 just north of Caney, Kansas at the Highway 166 Junction.  The Kansas Highway Patrol said 85-year-old Patricia Halfant and 82-year-old Wilma Rowden of Neodesha were killed in the collision. 85-year-old Mary Compton of Fredonia also died in the crash. A fourth individual, 32-year-old Casey Andrews of Tulsa, was transported to Tulsa’s St. John Hospital with serious injuries.

 

According to the KHP, Andrews vehicle was traveling north on Highway 75 when it crossed the center line. The vehicle occupied by the three Kansas women was traveling south and attempted an evasive maneuver to the left but the vehicles hit head-on.

 

All 3 fatality victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Highway 75 and the 166 junction were closed for several hours following the accident. The roadways have reopened.
