Bartlesville Police Chief Tracy Roles will offer rides on St. Patrick’s Day weekend to ensure everyone stays lucky this year. Chief Roles said Wednesday that he will be giving rides home to anyone who has consumed too much alcohol on the holiday – no questions asked.

Chief Roles said the goal hasn't changed since the New Year's Eve when the same service was offered during a drinking-related holiday. He said the goal is public safety by minimizing impaired drivers in the City of Bartlesville. This time around, Roles hopes more people will trust him and the Bartlesville Police Department with this service. He said they are not looking to trick or catch anyone doing anything wrong during the St. Patrick's Day holiday or any other time they offer this program. The Bartlesville Police Department only wants everyone to have a safe holiday.

There is no cost for the service. Roles said all you have to do is call the dispatch center at 918.338.4001 the night of service and let the dispatcher know that you are requesting a ride from Chief Roles. You will then be asked to give your location and Roles will pick you up and ensure you arrive at your destination safely. Locations must be within the Bartlesville city limits. Roles said he will be on call from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Saturday, March 16.
