Nowata Commissioners Hold Brief Meeting
The Nowata County Commissioners took action on a few items at Monday morning’s meeting. A six-month bid was let for hot mix, hot lay, cold patch, asphalt and delivery. The Commissioners will review bids over the next few weeks.
A detention services agreement was reached for $26 per day for juveniles with Sequoyah Enterprises out of Talihina. The final action item was the appointment of a new receiving officer for the sheriff’s office. Lauren Big Eagle will now fill the role.
During the announcements portion of the meeting Bud Frost said there was a break-in at his district three barn. A few batteries and a grader turned up missing. Frost said the incident was first noticed early Monday morning. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Nowata County Sheriff’s Office.
