Members of the Senate Veterans and Military Affairs Committee will meet on Tuesday for an interim study on the awarding of state contracts to businesses owned by disabled veterans. The study, which will be held at the state Capitol, was requested by Sen. Kevin Matthews ofTulsa.

Matthews noted the study would be held the week of Veteran’s Day, a national holiday honoring those who have served their country—including many who were seriously injured as a result of that service. The District 11 senator said he was concerned about disabled veterans who own Oklahoma businesses that do well except when it comes to state contracting.
