The Nowata County Commissioners covered a brief agenda during Monday’s regularly scheduled meeting.

Representatives from Grand Gateway Economic Development Association informed the county that they will be surveying residents about transportation issues in the community. The goal of the survey is to create a long-term transportation plan for the county. Grand Gateway has already performed a similar survey in Rogers County.

Other items included the letting a bid for the printing of the ballot materials for the upcoming election on November 14. The only item on the ballot is a one-percent sales tax for roads and bridges.

The commissioners also appointed a new sheriff’s deputy—Jessica Beusser—who will serve as a jailer.

The Nowata County Commissioners will hold their next regularly scheduled meeting on Monday November 13.
