Inmate Joe D. Andrus was discovered missing during a Wednesday morning count at Jackie Brannon Correctional Center.

Andrus is a 33-year-old Native American man, serving time for false impersonation and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Andrus was located by DOC Fugitive Apprehension & Investigations on U.S. 270 more than a mile away from the facility Wednesday night.

Andrus was serving a sentence for false impersonation and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle when he allegedly walked away from JBCC, a minimum security facility for male inmates.

He will likely face a felony charge of escape.
