Early Morning High Speed Chase in Pawhuska

A routine traffic violation ended with a high speed chase and two critically injured near Pawhuska on Wednesday morning.
 

Police Sergeant Rex Wikel from the Pawhuska Police Department reported that a Pawhuska patrol was attempting to make a routine stop after a Dodge Pick-up failed to yield at a stop sign at 2:50am Wednesday Morning, however the vehicle did not stop and began to evade the officer at a high rates of speed nearing 100mph.

 

The vehicle then failed to negotiate a turn near Baconrind Creek and HWY 60, the driver and passenger were ejected from the vehicle when it rolled several time before coming to rest.

 

The two occupants were transported in critical condition to hospitals in Tulsa, one by air transport, the other by ground.

 

Names have not yet been released for this incident. The Dodge Pick-up was reported stolen.
