A section of 1600 Road in Montgomery County northwest of Caney is closed this morning after a train derailment during the early morning hours.  According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department the derailment occurred around 4:00 this morning.  Reports indicate there were no injuries and no major spills.  The Caney Police Department reports somewhere between 2 and 5 cars derailed and it is unknown at this time how long the portion of 1600 Road near the Caney Valley Speedway will remain closed.  The train was an SKO Railroad train and when contacted this morning an SKO representative said they had no comment.
