Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles and Lady Eagles split a double header Thursday night in Bartlesville against KCAC foe Bethany College.  Lady Eagles won 84-63 while the Eagles lost 84-81.

The Lady Eagles led for most the game.  OKWU led 35-28 at halftime and outscored the Swedes 49-35 in the second half to pick up their seventh win of the year.  Shelbie Kirby led OKWU with 20 points and Tiffany Rieger added 15 points.  Patience Gitau recorded her first double-double of the year, 13 points, 10 rebounds, and two block shots.  As a team, the Lady Eagles shot 44 percent from the field.  Both OKWU and Bethany College finished with 38 rebounds each.  Lady Eagles recorded just nine turnovers to the Swedes 15 turnovers.  Lady Eagles improve to 7-5 overall and 3-3 in KCAC play.

In the mens game, Pat Everett's three-pointer to send the game into overtime fell short as Bethany College escapes with a victory.  The game was close throughout the contest.  The Swedes got off to a good start before the Eagles kept the game close.  Bethany College led 37-36 at halftime and outscored the Eagles 47-45 in the second half to go back home with a win.  Turnovers were once again a problem for OKWU as they committed 26 turnovers, their third straight game to commit over 20 turnovers.  During that three game stretch, the Eagles are 1-2.  As a team, the Eagles shot 48 percent despite those turnovers.  Jacob Feickert came off the bench for OKWU and led with 16 points while AJ Jack and Derrick Bowers finished with 14 points a piece.  OKWU out rebounded the Swedes 46-24.  Eagles fall to 5-7 overall and 3-3 in KCAC play.

Next up for both Eagles and Lady Eagles will be Saturday afternoon at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kansas.  Ladies play at 3 o'clock while the men will play at 5 o'clock.  You can hear the games on Sports Talk 99.1 FM KPGM starting at 2:45.
