The murder trial of a man charged in the shooting deaths of four women at a Tulsa apartment is underway.

Testimony began Thursday in the trial of Cedric Poore.

Poore has pleaded not guilty to the 2013 deaths of 23-year-old twins Rebeika Powell and Kayetie Powell Melchor; 33-year-old Misty Nunley; and 55-year-old Julie Jackson inside Powell's apartment. Poore's attorney says police did not perform a complete investigation and witness accounts are inconsistent.

Prosecutors say Poore and his brother, James Poore, robbed the women and killed them to prevent them from identifying the two as the robbers.

James Poore was convicted in March and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
