A Bartlesville man is dead as a result of an officer-involved shooting.  Police Captain Jay Hastings reports that police responded to a Domestic Disturbance in the 300 block of SE Edgewood shortly after 5:00 Wednesday evening.

When officers arrived at the home a woman ran out of the house with a man following her. The man was later identified as 36 year-old William Clifford Cole of Bartlesville. Reports indicate that Cole was assaulting the woman and officers tried to stop the attack. Police tasered Cole but he was not affected.  He then began assaulting one of the two officers on scene. That officer fired his weapon and hit the Cole.

Cole and the woman were transported to the Jane Phillips Medical Center along with one of the officers.

The officer is being treated for facial wounds he received during the assault. The female domestic victim is also being treated.

William Clifford Cole died at the hospital.

Detectives are on scene. OSBI has been contacted and are on scene as well. OSBI will conduct the investigation of the police-involved shooting.
