Two Copan People Arrested For Stealing Mail

A Copan man and woman are in custody after they allegedly stole mail from mailboxes. 

21-year old Stephanie Ann Pinkerton and 34-year old Rodney John Smith are charged with knowingly concealing stolen property, possession of CDS, and possession of marijuana.  Washington County Sheriff Deputies served a search warrant at a Copan home located in the 200 block of South Chestnut. 

According to a court affidavit, deputies found stolen mail, a bottle of hair color, a cell phone battery, and a large military bag.  The authorities found in a bedroom marijuana and other illegal drugs, along with knives and a 12-gauge shotgun.  Both suspects admitted taking mail from several mailboxes.

Pinkerton and Smith's next court date is November 4th.  Bond for Pinkerton was set at $25,000 while Smith's bond was set at $10,000.
