The Washington County Board of Commissioners held a lengthy meeting on Monday morning in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room. The commissioners were scheduled to hear four presentations, although they only heard three of them. Charity Kossin, Program Director for City on a Hill, Andrew Oleson, from “Back the Blue” Campaign, and Teriq Harris, from Cherish Unlimited, all spoke today. The fourth presentation was scheduled to be from Nolan Jones, who sent information about Washington County Suicide Prevention Week. The commissioners approved the written proposal and declared September 4-10 of 2016 as Suicide Prevention Week.

The commissioners also approved a contractor quote from GH Masonry & Construction for concrete on Road 2100, for $18,000. After the quote, the commissioners appointed Commissioner Mitch Antle as a representative to the Grand Gateway Transportation Planning Organization.

All other items for action were approved, and all receipts were acknowledged. The commissioners will meet again next week at 9:30 in the morning.
