More Information Of Shimko Murder Case
There's more information about last Wednesday morning's murder case in Dewey. On Monday afternoon, Donald Wayne Shimko The Third appeared in a Washington County Courtroom and was charged with first degree murder in the death of Shimko's grandmother Alvita Shimko.
According to a court affidavit, Dewey police were called to the Lakeshore Trailer Park, located in the 500 block of South Osage where they found Shimko's grandmother dead. Officers received a call around 4:30 in the morning on July 20th. The police found Shimko laying on the couch with a large amount of blood on the woman's face. Reportedly, officials at the Davis Family Funeral Home found a large hole on Shimko's head. The affidavit states that Shimko confessed to striking his grandmother at least once in the head with a wooden baseball bat. Shimko told the police he had been playing a video game, became angry at the game and had "blacked out."
Shimko's next court date is August 19th. Bond remains at $500,000.
